Sponsor an Iftar

The Islamic Society of Sonoma County (ISSC) warmly invites community members to sponsor an Iftar during the blessed month of Ramadan. Kindly provide your information below and select the date(s) you would like to sponsor. May Allah reward you for your generosity and support.

Please prepare food for 50-70 people on weekdays and 100 people on weekends.

Please make sure food is at the masjid 15 minutes prior to the Maghrib Athan

The masjid relies on the generosity and support of our community to host Iftar each evening during Ramadan. We are seeking volunteers to assist with clean-up after Iftar so we can maintain a welcoming and organized space for everyone.

Sunday School Teacher for
Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran

We are excited to announce 2 job openings for paid teaching positions at the Sunday School at the Islamic Society of Sonoma County. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator who is committed to fostering a love for learning and instilling Islamic values in our students.

Employment Type: Part-time (Every Sunday during the Islamic School Year, 10AM–1PM)



Compensation: $400 per month



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with our curriculum and Islamic teachings.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and growth.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the school community.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to enhance the educational experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching – Quran recitation, Arabic, & Islamic Studies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Islamic principles and teachings.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to the development of young minds.
